Katzlevania

Week 6 Update:
I think the worlds are very creative in Second Life. I just wish a lot of them weren't closed because I do enjoy looking at them. But the enjoyment only lives for a little while. I believe that the game quality of Second Life still hasn't been a comforting thing for me. It could be that the games I play has made me spoiled, but even though the worlds in Second Life are amazingly done I can't seem to shake the awkwardness of the visuals. I find a world that I think is beautiful but then I'm over it in the same minute.

Week 5 Update:
For me it's word of mouth as well, but then again...I do get those little pop ups for certain things. Like if an event is happening or what not. So I guess it's mixture of the game and the community you find yourself apart of. The crowd you involve yourself has things and topics they want to share with you and the game has little important things that they need to share with you. So the mixture actually helps you in the game.

Week 3 Update:
Honestly, Second Life is just the same for me. I do enjoy looking at the landscapes and flying around. I honestly am not a fan of this. I find myself just walking around or trying to figure out exactly where I'm going. It's almost like being in a giant metaphor for my life: "I have no idea what I'm doing wrong."

But even then, this game has given me an idea for future projects about isolation, and even unconscious self isolation. It's a very interesting spark of ideas this game has brought me.

Week 2 Update:
I got to interact with someone! Yay! But it's still very empty for me in the game. It's like being invited to party that nobody wanted to invite you to in the first place. Maybe I'm not trying hard enough but at least one person talked to me. It was a short conversation. I was in a world that I have no idea how I got to. It was an island built for strippers, and that was not where I wanted to go. So I asked a player if he could recommend a good fantasy world or goth like world, and he said "Not sure. Have fun." That was a fun convo.

Week 1 Update:
Hi everyone! So I was enjoying Second Life until I somehow exited out of the tutorial. I ended up on this island and I started exploring things on my own. By the way, my name is Katzlevania if you want to add me. Even though I was lost and confused, I did have a little fun. My character is a witch with a black cat on her shoulder. No one was really around to interact with, but I just had fun flying around over the lands. There were a lot of areas that told me I had to leave. It was a little disheartening at first but I was just excited that my life goal of being a witch that can fly with a cat on her shoulder has been fulfilled!

  1. Week 4 Update:

Honestly, maybe I'm not being open minded enough or maybe it's because the people that interact with me on Second Life just want to sell me stuff. But I honestly don't see any different when it comes to different bodies. When I'm in Second life I just notice different cliques are already built. I haven't really been able to interact with any on Second Life. I'm forever a lone. I do get the occasional "hi!" and then when I turn...they're gone. It's a really sad time to be a Kat. A very sad, sad day to be me :(
